I honestly find that most of such devices give us more trouble than benefits. They sell on a dream, but they almost never fulfill that dream – and a few years later, typically 20 years, they slide out of the market and are quickly forgotten.
That's true and they've begun to become irrelevant rather quickly in recent years... DVD/blu-ray players were quite short-lived, for example. I remember the hype at first, but now, with streaming services being dominant, no one cares for them.
That could very well be and I would love it! People often discover a new-found appreciation for the old when they're constantly flooded with the new. The revival of vinyl is one example.
Oh how I yearn for the days when my only device was a walkman 😅

Could it be that we do a full circle and start going to the theater again?
